Sectors

Our client work spans a broad range of industries, but we have also developed more specialist knowledge and intelligence through custom surveys, thought leadership events and client exposure in the following sectors:

Health

QCG works with public, private and charitable healthcare organisations nationally and locally. We believe that to be effective in the face of significant cost and capacity challenges, healthcare organisations must draw on the intrinsic values of staff.

We bring fresh insights from our work in other sectors to help clients identify ways to engage, motivate, develop and empower staff, and implement innovative ways to manage talent and reward performance.

Through our work we help leaders to engage effectively with staff to co-design and implement new ways of working to reduce costs whilst delivering high quality, safe healthcare and better outcomes.

June Dales supports the development of QCG’s healthcare practice. June has been providing senior level consultancy support to NHS, private and charitable healthcare organisations since 1999, both independently and in collaboration with others.

Retail

In 2015 QCG launched a new network for HR professionals working in the retail sector. This network is facilitated by Richard Sullivan who has led reward teams in the sector with both a UK and International agenda in the past. The network meets 3 times a year in a breakfast seminar format to review and discuss current issues.

The first two seminars were based around Gender Pay reporting; what companies have done and need to do ahead of the publication of the figures from 2018. The approach is informal and two-way with either a presentation or overview to spark the conversation. Most of the time is spent on the round table discussion. While members of the network are predominately retailers other operations focussed companies will also find the network relevant for them too.

Richard Sullivan leads our Retail sector work. Richard joined us in 2014 as an Associate after three years as an active participant and contributor to the QCG Reward Leaders Forum. He worked at Tesco for 18 years, leading reward teams in the UK, International and Group before leaving to become a freelance Consultant in 2013.

Construction, Engineering & Rail

QCG provides consultancy services across the Construction, Engineering and Rail sector. We support clients on our full range of talent and reward consulting services.

We also have run specialist comprehensive pay and benefits surveys for three areas within the sector since 2008:

The surveys provide function specific data not covered by general industry surveys, reporting data on base pay, bonuses, allowances and other benefits, with data cuts provided by discipline, sector, location and tenure.

The surveys have formed a community of Construction, Engineering and Rail organisations involved in regular information sharing and networking events.

Peter Fairchild leads our work in the Construction, Engineering and Rail sector. Peter joined us in 2014 as a Consultant and has worked with Construction, Engineering and Rail organisations since then on a number of projects.
