Closing date for applications: 26 October 2023
We are looking for someone interested in starting a career in HR consulting to join our team, as a reward and employee experience analyst. This is an entry level position.
Below you will find more information about us, the role and what we expect from the right candidate, along with instructions on what to do if this sounds like the right opportunity for you.
About QCG…
Based in London, we are in the consultancy business, helping organisations get better results through people. There is one constant, non-negotiable, in everything we do: Our values.
We combine our work in reward with projects in other areas covering the employee experience such as performance management, Employee Value Proposition, and employee communications. But you can find a lot more about us on our website, so let’s focus on what isn’t there.
We are nimble and benefit from being able to act fast to make sure our products and services are responding to the needs of the market. This is reflected in new service lines being developed in areas such as Employee Value Proposition (EVP), specialist training and targeted surveys.
Our team, while small, is diverse, with different generations, nationalities – and personalities! – represented. We challenge each other and work together towards great outcomes for clients. We all have a big impact on the business and everyone is expected to contribute, with a clear understanding that in order to do our best a healthy balance of work and play is very important.
This means working hard, while enjoying ourselves at work and having time for family and friends too.
About the role…
This is where consulting starts at QCG, learning the ropes. From day one you get a great deal of exposure to analysis within different projects, clients and challenges that will be the cornerstone of your development. Certainly more than you would at an in-house role or in bigger consultancy firms.
The initial focus of your work at QCG will be to develop the analytical, technical, commercial and people skills that will help you become a fully performing consultant, always with the support of more senior members of the team.
We expect you to contribute to the team in areas including data analysis, drafting reports, conducting research, leading on certain projects, project management and providing input and support for project work and business development activities.
In order to do your job well, you must always try hard to put yourself in our clients’ shoes and see things from their perspective.
Over time, as you build up experience and expertise, you will be in a position to take on more complex assignments and client management responsibilities.
We offer a reward package in line with your (relevant) experience, the demands of the role and the results of the business, including benefits to help you enjoy time-off work, stay healthy and save for the future.
About you…
By now you may have gathered that we are no ordinary consulting firm. That’s why we look for an extraordinary individual.
Ideally, you will have a mix of analytical and people skills that you can build on to become a great consultant in the future – and we will help you with that. You will be able to crunch the numbers, but you will also have it in you to tell the story behind the numbers in a clear, persuasive way.
Given the level of autonomy you will have, it is important that you are organised and reliable when it comes to meeting your work commitments. You will need to be resourceful and able to find a way forward in the face of uncertainty, knowing when to ask for help.
You need to be brave enough to stand for what you believe in, open enough to be willing to listen to others and humble enough to recognise that from time to time you may not be right.
Last but not least, you also need to have a sense of humour. As a tight-knit team we all need to be able to laugh at ourselves and each other. We do this a lot.
